Lydia's reaction is actually very natural in panel two and three. Even if you don't mind the occasional spider, it's supposed to stay over there in the corner and NOT scuttle all over you.
Someone mentioned that it's the first time ever that Lydia gets really flustered and I think it's true - she doesn't faze easily!
